Storm over Tombstone at Sunset
September 2009 – Penelope Price and I drove from Tucson to Tombstone to shoot footage for her upcoming documentary set in Afghanistan. We arrived about 4:30 pm and as soon as we began to set up the shoot the sun began to set behind magnificent clouds, and on the eastern horizon a sheet of rain captured its light, creating a rainbow. The entire valley was flooded with an ethereal pink glow. The setting seemed to announce some sort of mythic event about to happen.
